Puny virus booing the world

Hi,

Been a while since I have posted here. Sometimes it is hard to prioritize your day and the first things to get the beating are the ones we enjoy the most over the ones that stand a greater material obligation. Be it a favorite hobby, a personal goal that is held in back of your mind from a long time or anything that you derive pleasure from. Because one, our mind is too occupied for pleasure and two that our calenders are too crowded for leisure. That rhymes! :-)

I am running out of the words already! or say that running out of amusing words because lately it has mostly been life in general minus some comfort thanks to a puny little virus that has held all the medical streams in its stride since the beginning of the times. Be it Ayurveda, Homeopathy, or any of those hard to spell streams of medicine. Correct guess. it's common cold! I dare the whole medical fraternity to find a vaccine to this inconvenience. Although this little uneasiness is within my threshold of discomfort any day (except the irritable nose from constant wiping :-D). But when you have to live a larger than average day both at home and work, it's effects become all the more pronounced.

Of course this virus deserves a little credit for this post because I would have been busy elsewhere either Tweaking, or reading, was it not for an urge to relax triggered by this little bug.

I have coughed and sneezed quite a few times while typing this. But don't worry, it wont affect you across the net. Take care. Yes, I am taking care too. See I can read minds! =)

Ciao.

A little relief

Hello  after a long time!

I wonder if anyone cares at all but I was occupied with some self assigned tasks and some 'karmic' obligations. Finally as the challenges are over I am back to my old routine which is, not much of a routine though. :-)

Just to let you know what I am up to these days: The Tweaker is awake and causing me to spend on some tools and tackles. Thinking about things to do. Basically DIY stuff. Believe me DIY is cool and it is just an extension of our school-time craft and science projects deal. Keep an eye on my new blog http://MusingsOfATweaker.blogspot.com.

Well... You are also welcome to summon me for any ideas and if you are local, invitations for weekend home-fixes are welcome. :-)

Secondly, work is amazing by offering new challenges every now and then and that keeps you alert and do not let the brain catch any rust. So got to learn some stuff on the fly to deliver some expectations.

Thirdly, getting out of shape :(. Time for subscribing to pump some iron again this year around. That will happen soon.

And finally going to read some English literature, both classic and modern, and maybe Punjabi too (talking of Heer Varis Shah and so forth).

Those were the quick quick quick updates on the Vortexes of life.

See you soon.
Take care :-)

Happy Mid New Year

Heya!

Well it occurred to me that a few months ago we all were celebrating a new year and we all had announced our resolutions for the year. What were your goals? Read a book each month? Learn a new cuisine? Diet? Be regular to Gym? Read professional stuff? Do some social work? or Join a recreational club?

And pretty much like every year, the resolutions disappeared into thin year even before the moon had completed its first revolution around the planet for the year. Pretty unfortunate that this vicious circle repeats itself as consistently as the years tick by!

Now, half year into the year, I have this guy poking me from inside that I am the same person I started the year with. Telling me that you failed to stick to those basic rules yet again. And he never spares an opportunity for that sarcasm. I hope someone else also relates to this?

Well there are a few months more and I think it is still fair to retrospect and reinforce the same commitments we made to ourselves during the dawn of this year. Why only now, six months into the year and why not sooner? Talking of sooner, why not everyday?

Like our closet, bookshelves and habits, thoughts also seem to drive themselves into a more random and disordered state if left unattended. What we should do is keep on reviewing our self ordained goals and missions so that we stay on the same track. More frequently, the better. We need to keep adding fuel to the enthusiasm and zest with which we make promises to ourselves and keep that fire burning all the time.

For now, I think it is the time to pull the socks up and press the reset button on our older self and start anew, we still have enough time to pick up on the lost goals and also make a point to paste that list in our heads-up display so that we do not waver from our little self-made promises.

Join me and lets celebrate the rest of the year. All the best and Happy Mid New Year! :-)

-Take care

First shower with Rosemary

A shower with Rosemary

Hey there!

As I turned home from office today, it was evident that weather was going to turn weeping eyes to smiles. Clouds, thunder and a hint of eminent shower. As soon as I reached midway, it started to rain and gusts of wind so strong that they reduced vision by lifting up dust in the air.

For the first time in life I felt the joy of hard earned privilege of enjoying this season, the small droplets of rain from the middle of a blizzard instead of running for cover as I used to do a few months ago. I also empathized with those who still have to run around or wait for the shower to be over because I was so much one of them for so many years. While now, I was enjoying the weather, concealed from all the undesirable effects of the elements.

Rewound a few months and I saw myself covering up, packing up, rain-coating up or just giving in to the weather and try to enjoy being drenched. Now, I saw myself so blessed to enjoy the weather from my small comfortable, temporary haven. Thankful that in that moment of comfort I could spare a thought about myself when my destiny was counting down to bless me with this object of comfort. Saw myself wishing to deserve these amenities and put the efforts in to this effect.

Destiny has a reward plan-for all. Strangely, we do not yet know about how to think in her shoes. The best is to assume that all reward is proportional to earnest effort and perseverance.

I am also thankful that I could wish for the same comfort to those who are putting in their best foot in whatever duties the invisible powers have ordained for them. Some of them I can so much relate to as a person I was a few months back. Some of them whom I just wished a nice day just a few moments ago. Some who by virtue of their innocence, discipline and honesty, deserve much more comfort and luxury than they enjoy. Maybe it is their part of count-down to the rewards.

Good night.

Big sunday tomorrow - Nothing to loose

Hi Again,
There are conditions in some of ours' lives that are not solely our folly but tend to add a big dent in the way our life progresses. GOD has been generous enough not to treat me any different (someone detects sarcasm here? maybe yes!). As a result, I have been subject to mission of resolving an years old impediment that has been pulling me back since long. I will sure discuss in detail later on because this is another chapter in my life that has put my perseverance, patience and belief system to test.

Tomorrow I hope this will end for good. When you do not have that one thing, the fight to obtain the same becomes all the more interesting because you can go over the edge to achieve what you do not have without having any fear of loosing anything. Simply because you have nothing to loose!

That one got a bit philosophic. But applies to my situation in this case anyways. For now, I wish the reader pass me some luck for tomorrow. :-)

Good night and have a great weekend!

Resolutions Ho!

Hello and welcome to 2011!

We make some promises at the beginning of every year and try to stay true to them. However, as these promises are made to ourselves while sipping a coffee or waiting at a traffic stop; casually in other words; we are at all the liberty to break those self made promises without any feeling of remorse because it is all within us.

So better let the whole world know what you are up to so that everyone can pull your ears and say, "Hey kid! what about your promises you made the other day?". Or even if they don't, awareness about the fact that you have expressed your intentions to rest of the world is motivation enough to have one carry on.

So here is the meat. I have decided to stick to two activities that I dearly hope to imbibe into my personality. Now when you stick to something on a routine, it becomes a habit, habit becomes a trait and lots of positive traits make a person better over time. Isn't that what our quest is all about? To get better and better each day?

Ironically, our minds also obey the laws of thermodynamics and tend to follow the more random path with ease. It takes some energy to bring order into this mind and reduce its entropy somewhat. That is why sticking to these seemingly small and most honestly made resolutions seems all the more difficult.

So activity number one is to read at least 20 pages of something technical each day. That is almost as quickly the technology changes in my field of interest so that will help keep pace with the times.

And second one is to stick to an active lifestyle regime, that includes breaking my relations with the quilts, blankets and recliners, bonding still better with gym and finishing pending tasks proactively so that they don't tend to clog my mental gateways.

A bonus resolution is that, for the good of planet and its beings, I will continue to stay a veggie and a teetotaler. :-)

Seemingly simple, but lets see how this kid performs this time. Good night :-)

How to put it?

It is strange, but it seems that it has always been so that at the turn of each year a change has been infecting my life in a positive or negative way. Since last few years the turn of the year has been bringing a turn of events in my own life as well.

Strange so it seems, but it is true. Or maybe that is how I perceive the events at the turn of the year. Maybe that the events happening throughout the year are of similar nature but it is my own inability to put those events in the same perspective as I do with these.

Whatever, but is seems as though the time around month of my birth has been programmed to obey some astronomical rules and each year as the calender ticks by, this astronomical trigger comes into play and presents a challenge that takes all my senses and wits to task. Sometimes along with wits, emotions as well. :-)

Not a coincidence that this blog is titled Recursive-Vortex. Most of the time our lives keeps falling into the iterations of a recursion that are consequent of our actions that are in turn initiated by our desires and ambitions as we strive to fulfill them. And we find ourselves analyzing and introspecting the same set of situations, thoughts, outcomes and principles that we have been a few units of time ago. For me this unit of time seems to be a year.

And I firmly believe that like each time, this will pass away after playing a bit with my metal and leave for me an experience worthy of cherishing, leaving a wiser, abler, happier and content person behind.

Hope you could make something out of it.
Keep recursing for good :-)

Take care.
